Product description
The Component: Genuine Sumitomo 6189-0785 2-way female automotive sealed connector plug. 2.2mm (.090) HV/HC Sealed Series 2-position single-row socket receptacle assembly (Black / PBT / Sealed / Fuel Injector Plug / Loose Piece / VAG Cross-Ref: 06A973722).
Applications & Fitment: Designed as the definitive factory original equipment (OE) wiring harness repair pigtail for high-precision, low-voltage engine management components. Most notably specified throughout Volkswagen Group architectures (VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda cross-reference: 06A973722) as well as Mazda platforms as a high-reliability fuel injector plug. Additionally utilized as the factory connection interface for specialty components like Delphi/Phinia Multec 3.5 series compressed natural gas (CNG) and alternative hydrogen fuel injectors. Highly vulnerable to primary external mechanical thumb-latch snapping from age-related under-hood heat-soak embrittlement or contact lane track degradation from aggressive field testing.
